Community Development Manager manages the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Ensures company visibility is established in the area and promotes relationships with groups, agencies, and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Manager evaluates the current and future credit needs of the community and develops a strong understanding of the local issues and needs. Actively monitors public programs that support community development initiatives. Additionally, Community Development Manager initiates policy changes or enhancements to ensure compliance with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other regulations. Makes recommendations to expand and develop lending programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Community Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Community Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Purpose & Impact:
The Development & Community Relations Manager serves as the lead development officer for LSF in the assigned county or counties. This high-capacity Manager drives the development efforts at multiple large metropolitan Florida cities/campuses and reports to the Director of Development at LSF’s Central Services while collaborating with the Program Director at the assigned location for all community engagement work. This position requires a high level of self-motivation, as the Manager will be responsible for driving fundraising success, creating community partnerships, and fostering broad awareness of the organization. The Manager must have a commitment to serving the region’s most vulnerable populations, and a desire to play an important role in LSF’s state-wide Development Team. The goal of this position is to create annual fundraising efforts totally over $300,000 annually.
