Community Development Manager manages the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Ensures company visibility is established in the area and promotes relationships with groups, agencies, and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Manager evaluates the current and future credit needs of the community and develops a strong understanding of the local issues and needs. Actively monitors public programs that support community development initiatives. Additionally, Community Development Manager initiates policy changes or enhancements to ensure compliance with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other regulations. Makes recommendations to expand and develop lending programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Community Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Community Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Description

    Community Coordination handles direct case management services to clients currently at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Line who live in Boston, Malden, Medford, and Everett.     Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for maintaining case management files, and providing supportive services and referrals
    • Conduct intake process and assist clients in establishing educational and occupational goals..
    • Develop positive working relationships with various organizations within the public and private sectors to expand placement efforts.
    • Identify support services needed and make appropriate referrals and orient new clients to referred programs.
    • Conduct workshops for the diverse populations of a specific communities.
    • Assist clients in the proper completion of job applications and resumes for employment opportunities.
    • Follow up with prospective agencies and employers to maintain up-to-date information on employment opportunities.
    • Provide clients with services for EITC tax preparation, food pantry, fuel assistance, SummerWorks, and with Virtual Gateway services, including food stamps and health insurance.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.


    Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

    • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent, with up to one year of experience in case management, job development or general office support required.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Bilingual skills as needed.
    • Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
