Community Development Manager manages the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Ensures company visibility is established in the area and promotes relationships with groups, agencies, and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Manager evaluates the current and future credit needs of the community and develops a strong understanding of the local issues and needs. Actively monitors public programs that support community development initiatives. Additionally, Community Development Manager initiates policy changes or enhancements to ensure compliance with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other regulations. Makes recommendations to expand and develop lending programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Community Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Community Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     We are looking for an energetic and versatile professional to lead the organization and coordination within Grovewood Community Development’s office. As the Office Manager, you’ll provide crucial oversight by managing administrative tasks, technical support, Human Resources, and accounts payable. Additionally, you’ll facilitate seamless communication between internal teams and external partners. Your skill set should encompass professional communication, office management, compliance knowledge, human resources, and bookkeeping.

    About You

    • You have progressive experience in office administration, IT support, and bookkeeping.
    • You’ve served an offices’ administrative point of contact.
    • You’ve served as the Human Resources contact for employees.
    • You’re a collaborator with internal departments by developing office policies and procedures.
    • You have demonstrated expertise in assessing and maintaining the needs of the senior leadership, staff members, clients, and partners.
    • You have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, you can communicate with a variety of audiences, you appreciate the details, and you’re organized.

    A Day in the Life

    Administration

    • Responsible for managing day-to-day office operations and establishing and implementing office and Human Resources procedures.
    • Exercise discretion and judgment to make informed decisions regarding office administrative matters.
    • Manage phone calls, messaging, and emails for the office.
    • Schedule and coordinate meetings and events, secure venue and set up of audio/visual equipment and services, prepare and distribute materials, send event notifications and reminders, hire catering services and other duties.
    • Support marketing and communication activities.
    • Provide administrative and implementation support for program and real estate staff and activities as needed.
    • Oversee Information Technology (IT) systems, service, support, and equipment in partnership with a third-party administrator.

    Accounts Payable

    • Responsible for the bookkeeping, accounts payable, bank deposits, and overseeing the financial software system.
    • Manage online donations, recordkeeping, and report generation.

    Human Resources

    • Oversee and manage the onboarding, policy and procedures development, and benefits administration processes, serving as the primary contact for new hires.
    • Oversee and maintain office and personnel records.

    Collaboration

    • Create, foster, and maintain a positive and professional relationship with staff, third-party administrators, vendors, clients, residents, the Board of Directors, and various community resource providers, funders, lenders, investors, donors, and service providers.

    What You Bring to Us

    • A 2-year degree or in pursuit of a 4-year degree in business management or administration, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an office administration role working in a small office setting, in a nonprofit organization, real estate development/lending, and or property management company preferred or any equivalent combination of experience, lived experience, and/or special skills. English speaking with Spanish language proficiency preferred.
    • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, G Suites, and knowledge of online video conferencing including Zoom, Microsoft Office Teams and other comparable visual platforms, Cloud-based data, document storage and management are preferred.
    • Organizational skills, written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work and tasks.
    • Adaptability to produce and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-task and changing environment, and the ability to work independently as part of a team.
    • Ability to embrace, support, and integrate Grovewood Community Development’s philosophies to promote and demonstrate its commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and anti-racism.

    Compensation: This is an exempt, salaried position, based on knowledge, skills, and experience. The salary range is $ $60,000 - $65,000 and includes Grovewood Community Development’s standard benefit package, including a medical plan, dental plan, vision, life insurance, holiday pay and paid time off.

    The Legal Stuff
