Community Development Manager manages the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Ensures company visibility is established in the area and promotes relationships with groups, agencies, and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Manager evaluates the current and future credit needs of the community and develops a strong understanding of the local issues and needs. Actively monitors public programs that support community development initiatives. Additionally, Community Development Manager initiates policy changes or enhancements to ensure compliance with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other regulations. Makes recommendations to expand and develop lending programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Community Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. The Jefferson County Department of Community Development is seeking an individual to join our fast-paced front office team as our Community Development Technician I. The ideal candidate for this role excels at multi-tasking, has exceptional customer service skills, and possesses the ability to learn, internalize, and explain complex technical information as it pertains to permitting.
Community Development Technician I: Performs a wide variety of customer service and permitting tasks, corresponds with customers in person, over the phone, or by email, calculates and collects permitting fees and prepares deposits. See attached for full details.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two (2) years related experience and/or training in construction industry related subjects; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hours and Compensation: Full-time, 40 hours per week, UFCW grade 23 position; starting pay is typically $20.98/hour. Full wage range is $20.98-$26.20. Full medical benefits, including dental and vision. Retirement provided through Washington State DRS. 11 paid holidays, 12 vacation days to start, sick leave and bereavement leave. Starting January 1, 2024, UFCW will be adopting Personal Time Off (PTO) in lieu of vacation and sick leave. Typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with a one (1) hour lunch.
