Community Development Compliance Specialist ensures the organization's adherence with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) banking laws. Reviews and analyzes lending activity data as well as other activities and policies of the organization to ensure compliance with CRA policies. Being a Community Development Compliance Specialist coordinates the preparation of required government, regulatory, and other compliance documents for all community development activities. Advises management and coordinates with legal staff on potential impact of actions. Additionally, Community Development Compliance Specialist develops and recommends guidelines and standards to assist with compliance. Has current and extensive knowledge of all CRA regulations and policies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Community Development Compliance Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Job Summary:

    The Regulatory Compliance Specialist must be a detail-oriented person with technical skills to perform compliance tasks and provide compliance expertise for the Bank's marketing activities, third party reviews, policy and procedure reviews, and the compliance training program. This position will be required to work with various business units and assist with departmental projects as needed.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Perform timely compliance reviews and approval for all marketing requests submitted through a specialized tracking software program. Perform monthly social media monitoring.
    • Ensure the quality of all marketing and social media complies with regulatory compliance guidelines and state and federal laws.
    • Utilize third party management software to review vendors and providers to ensure they maintain sufficient policies and internal controls to meet legal and regulatory expectations.
    • Review compliance policies and procedures to ensure they remain current and accurate.
    • Manage the compliance training program and assist business units with special requests.
    • Work with other team members as needed to resolve backlogs, solve problems, collaborate on new initiatives, implement regulatory changes, and remedy issues as they arise.
    • Maintain a proficient knowledge of applicable banking rules and regulations and complete required training.
    • Support the Bank's goals and values; benefits the Bank through outside activities.
    • Perform the position safely, without endangering the health or safety of themselves or others and will be expected to report potentially unsafe conditions. Comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 197, which are applicable to one's own actions and conduct.

    Job Skills and Qualifications:

    • This role requires strong knowledge of consumer compliance laws and regulatory requirements with a solid business understanding of consumer and commercial/business banking products and services.
    • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and quickly focus on producing results.
    • Bachelor's degree preferably in English, Communications, Business, Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
    • Two years' compliance and/or audit experience with a regulated financial institution.
    • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or similar designation preferred but not required with appropriate experience.
    • Office working conditions/hybrid work week.
    • Occasional overnight travel to conferences, other office locations, etc.
    • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time.
    • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
