Community Development Compliance Specialist jobs in Kansas

Community Development Compliance Specialist ensures the organization's adherence with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) banking laws. Reviews and analyzes lending activity data as well as other activities and policies of the organization to ensure compliance with CRA policies. Being a Community Development Compliance Specialist coordinates the preparation of required government, regulatory, and other compliance documents for all community development activities. Advises management and coordinates with legal staff on potential impact of actions. Additionally, Community Development Compliance Specialist develops and recommends guidelines and standards to assist with compliance. Has current and extensive knowledge of all CRA regulations and policies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Community Development Compliance Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.   • Position Description:

    The Compliance Specialist works on the Compliance Team and in conjunction with other internal departments and clients to ensure Lever1 remains accredited and in good standing with each state it does business in as well as guiding its clients in accordance with state and federal regulations. By maintaining state compliance requirements and administering insurance policies and quality control for overall PEO performance.

    Essential Job Functions:
    • Develop and provide employee training on compliance policies, practices, and reporting systems.
    • Identify, investigate, and report compliance issues, irregularities, and violations.
    • Maintain records of compliance activities.
    • Manage and assist with employment verifications, wage garnishments and unemployment claims processing.
    • Work in coordination with the tax team to ensure client taxes are processed accurately.
    • Prepare and file state tax teams to ensure client taxes are processed accurately.
    • Communicating with Federal, State and Local agencies.
    • Manage new hire and termination reporting as states require.
    • Consulting with and advising leadership and management on compliance matters.
    Required and Preferred Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
    • At least 2 years' experience preferred in the field of compliance.
    • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, procedures, and other relevant regulatory standards.
    • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel with a focus on data manipulation and report creation.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Attention to detail.
