The Director of Engineering is responsible for coordinating the joint response of Smithville’s principal network design agents - the Plant Engineering and Network Engineering Departments. The Director of Engineering is also responsible for overseeing the Network Operations Department as the operational support agent. A successful candidate is an innovation leader who proposes ideas that feed the Executive Leadership Team's strategic considerations.

As a senior manager, the Director of Engineering will be expected to lead cross-functional teams required for special corporate initiatives on an as-needed basis. The Director will make high-impact decisions on a regular basis. Those decisions may include, changes to operating procedures, technical architecture, department structure, or project execution and will be responsible for capital and operational budgets for provider-side activity.
