Commodity Manager implements a commodity procurement and inventory strategy that supports a company's manufacturing supply chain. Manages the policies and processes to purchase raw materials required to process and manufacture products, conduct research, or enable other business activities. Being a Commodity Manager monitors and analyzes the commodities market, global economic conditions, and events to make informed purchase decisions. Identifies, evaluates, and monitors suppliers and develops relationships to provide reliable sourcing and ensure the quality and availability of required commodities. Additionally, Commodity Manager oversees bidding and contract negotiations to obtain the best pricing to meet commodity needs. Analyzes inventory levels, manufacturing schedules, and long-term business objectives to plan and manage purchases. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and standards governing the purchase and delivery of goods. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Commodity Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Commodity Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Summary: Works alongside the General Manager and Assistant General Manager to oversee the quality and success of Goldfish Swim School. This will encompass all daily operations including staffing, pool management, and providing a Golden customer service experience to all members. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, motivated, and results-driven person who is passionate about working with children.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Directs and controls the daily operations to ensure the school is running according to GSS standard operating procedures.

    2. Helps the General Manager and department managers fulfill the daily tasks.

    3. Manages the staff of GSS to ensure high productivity, excellent performance and positive employee satisfaction.

    4. Trains and oversees the aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction to the students of GSS. Interacts with the Deck Supervisors and Golden Teachers on issues related to class scheduling, student progress, customer service and employee performance and training.

    5. Provides sales and marketing training to all qualified sales staff.

    6. Provides direction in the retail and vending departments to ensure a proper mix of products and pricing is achieved.

    7. Trains and oversees birthday party staff to ensure that the GSS standard operating procedures are being maintained.

    8. Gains knowledge and experience in the iClass Pro software to achieve a high level of competence in bookings, class scheduling, reporting and administrative functions.

    9. Gains a high level of knowledge and experience in the GSS pool operations necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment.

    10. Initiates and oversees workplace employee activities (“Fun” Department) with the goal of achieving improved employee satisfaction.

    11. Directs and oversees the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures that pertain to the GSS facility, and trains all current staff on the GSS EAP.

    12. Maintains current certifications

    Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications or equivalent is desired but not required. Experience as youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor or aquatics instructor/supervisor is preferred. Three to five years management experience is preferred.

    Certificates and Licenses : Lifeguard and CPR/First Aid certifications required. On site training for these certifications available.

    Requirements:

    • Ability to work with children, no formal swim experience required, full training provided
    • Must be willing to work in the water for 3-4 hours on some shifts
    • Must be able to work 1 weekend day (Saturday or Sunday- 6 hour shift) and some evenings (until 8:30pm)
    • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
    • MUST WANT TO HAVE FUN!
    • Ellis Lifeguard Certification required within the first 90 days of hire. (We provide In-House certification)
