Commodity Manager implements a commodity procurement and inventory strategy that supports a company's manufacturing supply chain. Manages the policies and processes to purchase raw materials required to process and manufacture products, conduct research, or enable other business activities. Being a Commodity Manager monitors and analyzes the commodities market, global economic conditions, and events to make informed purchase decisions. Identifies, evaluates, and monitors suppliers and develops relationships to provide reliable sourcing and ensure the quality and availability of required commodities. Additionally, Commodity Manager oversees bidding and contract negotiations to obtain the best pricing to meet commodity needs. Analyzes inventory levels, manufacturing schedules, and long-term business objectives to plan and manage purchases. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and standards governing the purchase and delivery of goods. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Commodity Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Commodity Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities

    The Commodity Purchasing Specialist III will be responsible for the critical role of strategic sourcing for both products and services with accountability for spend across IGT's Lottery business. This role owns the development of initial commodity strategy as well as monitoring and maintaining the implemented strategy to deliver improving year over year key procurement KPIs.

    • Build commodity sourcing strategies that aligns to overall Lines of Business’ strategy.
    • Oversee commodity strategy implementation activities to deliver the expected business value.
    • Provide Commodity specific subject matter expertise and insights to internal clients and regular status updates of all projects to leadership.
    • Leverage current and future business requirements, market intelligence, and historical spend to develop innovative Commodity strategies that drive cost reduction, enterprise consistency, and business value.
    • Establish and maintain a collaborative partnership with tactical procurement.
    • Adhere to Commodity metrics and savings targets, monitor performance, and communicate these to stakeholders.
    • Create a Commodity specific initiative pipeline that will forecast and direct procurement projects and sourcing activities.
    • Develop and lead cross functional teams to execute on strategy.
    • Maintain expertise in the Commodity through relationships with sourcing teams, business units, suppliers, market experts, and global/regional liaisons. Know and apply value chain and value stream concepts.
    • Identify business enablement opportunities and provide Commodity related insights and recommendations through published commodity plans and sourcing calendars.
    • Accountable for driving communication and reporting to keep internal stakeholders informed of progress and benefits.
    • Work with internal risk and compliance groups to ensure Commodity strategies account for relevant laws, regulations, and risk policies.
    • Act as change agent and advocate for procurement as a value added function.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree / MBA
    • Technical degree
    • CPM or CPSM preferred
    • 5 years related experience
    • Innovative Thinking: Proven ability to connect ideas, events, and circumstances to find Commodity management solutions to business problems or goals
    • Applies flexible approach to achieving Commodity management results in dynamic situations
    • Skilled in change adoption, change management, and resource assessment
    • Ability to work independently. Energetic and self-motivated
    • Experience influencing others to voluntarily adopt Commodity Management practices
    • Strong analytical and financial skills
    • Strong oral and written communication
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Project, and Excel

    At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $85,000/yr - $95,000/yr. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.


    Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses .
