Commodity Manager implements a commodity procurement and inventory strategy that supports a company's manufacturing supply chain. Manages the policies and processes to purchase raw materials required to process and manufacture products, conduct research, or enable other business activities. Being a Commodity Manager monitors and analyzes the commodities market, global economic conditions, and events to make informed purchase decisions. Identifies, evaluates, and monitors suppliers and develops relationships to provide reliable sourcing and ensure the quality and availability of required commodities. Additionally, Commodity Manager oversees bidding and contract negotiations to obtain the best pricing to meet commodity needs. Analyzes inventory levels, manufacturing schedules, and long-term business objectives to plan and manage purchases. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and standards governing the purchase and delivery of goods. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Commodity Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Commodity Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. SUMMARY Foundry Sourcing Commodity Manager is responsible for deploying the mid- to long term strategic foundry sourcing plan, partnered with Operations, Finance, Technology Development, Quality, and Business Units. This position is also responsible for foundry partner relationship management, market trend interpretation, wafer market price, and co-chair the strategic business review (SBR) meetings with foundries. RESPONSIBILITIES Deploy a feasible mid- to long term wafer sourcing strategy to provide Allegro the best value solution and support the growth opportunity Provide market, industry, and vendor information with intelligence to management for sourcing decisions Develop the wafer market cost model, co-develop the internal end to end product costing model for New Product gross profit margin calculation Co-Chair the Strategic Business Meetings (SBR’s) with foundries and the owner of the foundry score cards with other groups’ inputs Lead cross-functional quarterly foundry steering committee meeting to ensure the strategic plan provides the most effective and efficient solutions for Allegro’s current and future needs Foundry relationship management Foundry contract/ capacity/pricing negotiation and ensure execution carried out as planned Foundry capacity and performance management Cost reduction initiatives and planning Host and coordinate vendor visits Translate strategic sourcing decisions into a win-win business plan with foundry partners. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 5 years of prior foundry sourcing experience or related work BS degree in Engineering, MBA preferred Ability to work with technical team on down selecting foundry partners and/ or technologies in the most efficient way with a long-term solution mindset Ability to lead internal and external teams to develop and deliver the foundry strategic plan Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational ability to drive and work with cross functional/ cultural organizations to achieve the common goals Ability to turn technical information into business languages or vise versa to ensure cross-functional teams moving towards the common goal Excellent communication and presentation skills Strong analytical and negotiation skills required Proficient in MS Office Suite applications Business process improvement to efficiently improve Allegro’s profitability Proactively manage potential business interruption to maximize Allegro’s revenue Work with internal parties to maximize dual source capability with the least amount of effort where possible Ability to write up executive summaries DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Fab experience preferred Automotive experience a plus #LI-DL1 At Allegro, we are committed to providing a harassment-free environment of mutual respect to fuel innovation through inclusive thought collaboration.
