Commodity Manager implements a commodity procurement and inventory strategy that supports a company's manufacturing supply chain. Manages the policies and processes to purchase raw materials required to process and manufacture products, conduct research, or enable other business activities. Being a Commodity Manager monitors and analyzes the commodities market, global economic conditions, and events to make informed purchase decisions. Identifies, evaluates, and monitors suppliers and develops relationships to provide reliable sourcing and ensure the quality and availability of required commodities. Additionally, Commodity Manager oversees bidding and contract negotiations to obtain the best pricing to meet commodity needs. Analyzes inventory levels, manufacturing schedules, and long-term business objectives to plan and manage purchases. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and standards governing the purchase and delivery of goods. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Commodity Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Commodity Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Impact You'll Make

    As a leader in Lam's Global Supplier Management organization, this critical position requires a passionate, driven leader who will architect and deliver strategic directions to the organization's supply chain, ensuring the company is positioned to be a winner in a complex, fast paced, highly competitive industry. Initial focus will be to architect commodity supply chain to support a growing global business with a high degree of complexity. This includes aligning resources, prioritizing strategies, establishing targets, and implementing growth and cost initiatives that support the broader business strategy.

    This position resides within the Global Operations Supply Chain organization and reports to the head of Strategic Commodities. Location of the position is in Livermore, CA and will include worldwide travel.

    What You'll Do
    • Develop a 3-year vision, strategy and organizational structure for assigned commodities. The strategy should enhance competitive differentiation and address commodity availability, quality, and cost.
    • Your focus area will be managing commodities which include Commercial Off the Shelf parts, Elastomers/Gaskets/Seals and OEM parts.
    • Lead sourcing negotiations.
    • Drive business processes that enable effective prioritization and facilitate faster customer solutions.
    • Build and maintain a strong supply chain to support and meet the needs of changing Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances trends in the industry.
    • Successfully operate across boundaries and prioritize the activities of the organization to achieve best in class results.
    • Develop and present meaningful and impactful messages to a wide array of audiences: Leadership, Global Supply Chain, Suppliers and Customers.
    Who We're Looking For
    • Bachelor's degree and/or MBAin Supply Chain, Business Management, Operations, Engineering, or related degree
    • Twelve (12)years of commodity management experience, preferably withelastomer, seals, and gasket suppliers.
    • 10 years of working experience in the Semiconductor Equipment industry is a plus.
    • Strong experiences in negotiating various types of contractual agreements.
    • Demonstrated experience working successfully in a matrix organization.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience giving presentations and interaction with director reports, cross-functional teams, and senior leadership
    • Proficient on Excel and Power Point, and SAP

    CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: Min $109,000 - $239,000

    The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
