Job Details:
The Associate Analyst Commodity plays a critical role in ensuring our soybean meal suppliers fulfill their obligation to deliver contracted quality soybean meal into our feed mills. They will be instrumental in ensuring the claims process is best in class utilizing automated processes and digitizing data for increased efficiency. In addition, this position will ensure the program recovers $8M - $10M in annual costs associated with deficient soybean meal quality. Responsibilities include, data cleansing, validation, and linking; invoicing; maintaining adequate records; allocating receipts; collection management; reporting and analytics on the claim process and lab results; performing other data maintenance and reporting as needed. This position will report to the Sr. Director, of Commodity and works closely with Tyson soybean meal buyers and nutritionists providing key information to them to make more informed buying decisions. The position requires an organized and dependable initiative-taker who can think beyond the program's current scope to ensure efficient and innovative practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Actively engages with a variety of internal and external audiences to ensure program success.

Ensures adherence to National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA) rules and regulations for sampling and reporting of lab results.

Creates and disseminates claims analytics and ensures soybean meal buyers and nutritionists receive important and timely information.

Continuously assesses, evaluates, and adapts activities to provide a best-in-class soybean meal claims process.

Actively engages with third-party labs, suppliers, nutritionists, buyers, and accounts receivables to ensure timely invoicing, collections, reporting, and allocation of claims.

Collaborates with Feed Ingredients Payables and physical brokers to reconcile monthly brokerage statements.

Performs ad hoc reporting and data maintenance activities as needed.

Serves as a collaborative partner with the soybean meal team to identify opportunities and make recommendations for program improvements and value-added initiatives.
Requirements:
Education/Certifications: BS degree in General Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field; other majors considered based on work experience and skillsets.
Experience: 1-3 years experience in general accounting or finance-related fields.
Computer Skills: Strong Excel experience required; Experience working with large datasets a plus. Knowledge of Access, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint is a plus.
Communication Skills: This position must have effective communication skills.
