Commercial Tire Technician performs tire and tire related services at commercial service centers according to company requirements. Mounts, demounts and balances commercial and other tires and wheels as directed by a service manager or a more senior technician. Being a Commercial Tire Technician follows established procedures to inspect tires, wheels and vehicles before and after service, noting additional needs and notifying the service manager or supervising technician. May be responsible for replenishing inventory and maintaining shop supply levels. Additionally, Commercial Tire Technician may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Commercial Tire Technician possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Exerts 75 to 125 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Frequently reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction), handles (seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or working with hands), and identifies and distinguishes colors. Occasionally climbs (ascends or descends ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like), balances. Occasionally stoops (bending the body downward and forward by bending at the waist, legs and spine), and kneels (bending the legs at knee to come to rest on knee or knees).
