Commercial Loan Clerk processes loan payments and applies funds to customer accounts. Calculates and processes payoffs, and releases titles and insurance interest. Being a Commercial Loan Clerk calculates and prepares refunds for customers that submit overpayments. Responds to customer inquiries and requests for net payoff quotes. Additionally, Commercial Loan Clerk may require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Commercial Loan Clerk works under moderate supervision. Role: To administratively assist the Consumer Loan Department with member loan documents and processes.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Reviews all loan documents generated by branch staff for proper documentation via a quality assurance process. Provide guidance to Operations staff on error resolution.
Provides administrative support to Consumer Lending Manager. Designated back-up for Title and Insurance Administrator. Provides assistance to Home Equity Processor as assigned by manager.
Processes loan payments as received, routinely maintain paid of loan reports, generate correspondence to members associated with title and/or lien releases.
Collects and processes GAP/Warranty enrollment forms with insurance company. Cancels GAP/Warranty policies, posts refunds from cancellations and adjusts loan payments in core operating system. Responsible for balancing internal accounts for GAP and Warranty General Ledger entries.
Other duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
1.To produce loan documents, reports, and new accounts in a timely fashion, with zero errors.
2.To close, organize and complete member loan files within designated time frame.
3.To maintain a working knowledge of the credit union's loan standards and governmental regulations.
4.To maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly atmosphere for members and co-workers.
5.To maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
Knowledge and Skills:
ExperienceOne year to three years of similar or related experience.
EducationA high school education or GED.
Interpersonal SkillsWork involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Other SkillsMust have good oral and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Proficient with 10-key calculator, typewriter, and keyboard skills.
