Commercial Leasing Manager manages and directs the daily activities of the leasing operations department in accordance with organization policies and standards. Responsible for all leasing functions, which may include reviewing and negotiating lease transactions and agreements. Being a Commercial Leasing Manager oversees completion of all necessary paperwork and ensures proper customer service. Responsible for the productivity and budgetary performance of the leasing operations department. Additionally, Commercial Leasing Manager develops and implements polices and procedures to improve efficiency and profitability of the department. Monitors trends for competition in the marketplace. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior manager or head of a unit/department. The Commercial Leasing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     SUMMARY OF JOB:

    The Risk & Compliance Manager is the CCH Corporate lead, who manages day-to-day legal and risk management operations to ensure compliance with regulations and laws. Maintains and provides quick access to legal and risk department information and provides dependable, competent support and guidance to the CCH entities.      

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Manages the company’s commercial insurance business operations and understands potential exposures.
    • Reviews coverage limits for new and existing assets, identifies areas of needed coverage or those in excess, interfaces with carrier representatives as needed for contract review and policy issuance.
    • Develops, updates and maintains policies, department systems and databases and coordinates the workflow of legal and risk operations.
    • Identifies potential business risk and compliance issues and provides management with operational perspective and solutions. Recognizes need to seek Corporate legal counsel as needed.
    • Participates in the development and gathering of key legal and risk department performance metrics to better inform subsidiary decision-making.
    • Maintains claims/matters and provides reports from key databases, including Legal Tracker and Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS), with a focus on analyzing and reporting on costs and trends.
    • Aids leadership in developing strategies to improve claim costs and trends.
    • Assists with management of outside counsel, broker and carrier relationships.
    • Supports reporting and investigation of claims, such as worker compensation, auto, property, general liability, and employment practices, with a focus on achieving optimal claim outcomes and total cost reduction.
    • Provides internal litigation support, including discovery, and identifies cost-effective means for discovery.
    • Drafts documents and transactional documents, provides support for board and committee meetings by posting meeting notices, reviewing reports and preparing resolutions.
    • Reviews contracts to assess potential risks and to ensure compliance with insurance requirements.
    • Audits, monitors and maintains the CCH Records Management and retention program/policy.
    • Assists with state licensing and biennial reporting.
    • Oversees site processes for conducting risk assessments, training and provides guidance on  implementing preventative measures to control losses, claim reporting, investigation and post incident management and mitigation.
    • Works with parent company risk management to implement loss prevention programs and systems, and to use outside loss control resources. Ensures sites are compliant with programs.
    • Gathers and compiles insurance renewal information for the commercial division companies.
    • Reviews and generate certificates of insurance and bonds.
    • Acts as a key liaison to subsidiaries and corporate departments.
    • Performs related duties as assigned.

     

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field
    • Certified Risk Manager (CRM) certification
    • Seven (7) years professional level experience in compliance, legal or risk management
    • Skill in the use of MS Office Suite such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as database programs like Legal Tracker and RIMS, as well as project management skills at an intermediate level
    • Ability to travel to job sites as necessary to support the company’s risk and compliance programs
    • Possess strong work ethic and ability to work without direct supervision
    • Skills in collaborating, organizing resources, establishing priorities, meeting deadlines and general time management
    • Effective professional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise confidentiality

     

    Knowledge Of:  Risk management, claims management, legal ethics and common principals, procedures and practices; contract documents; general administrative duties and associated equipment;

     

    Ability To: Maintain strict confidence; prioritize projects and complete in accordance with established deadlines; research legal issues and draw conclusions based on data gathered; provide appropriate follow up.  Balance multiple tasks and deal with interruptions; perform/evaluate various types of analysis; work professionally with a variety of people and personalities; communicate effectively orally and in writing; understand broader business issues; negotiate effectively.
