Job Description – Debt Collector/Account Representative

Join an established financial services company as a full-time Debt Collector.

The position is responsible for servicing, maintaining, and collecting outstanding balances on consumer accounts. The position is in the employer’s Tacoma headquarters office.

Responsibilities

• Inbound/outbound calls to consumers.
• Collect outstanding debts.
• Establish payment terms with consumers for account resolution.
• Answer inquiries by clarifying desired information, updating and documenting call center database accurately.
• Skip tracing and asset location.
• Recommending accounts to legal review when appropriate.
• Maintain strict compliance with State and Federal regulations and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

· 2 years debt collection or call center experience preferred, or 2 years professional experience in customer service or sales.

· Exceptional customer service commitment

· Strong interpersonal and listening skills; assertive, persistent and ability to de-escalate

· Working knowledge of accounts receivable

· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and prioritize

· Ability to follow verbal and written instruction

· Typing minimum 40 WPM

Working Conditions

· Office hours; Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM

· On the job training provided

· All prospective employees must pass a background screening

Starting Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour, DOE
