Collateral Manager leads a team of appraisers conducting assessments, valuations, and appraisal reviews of real estate, land, and other personal property to establish the market value generally used for lending, insurance, or other purposes. Establishes processes for conducting on-site inspections of property and data collection required to perform valuations. Being an Collateral Manager follows generally accepted appraisal practice concepts and practices to perform data analysis, develop valuation estimates, and write comprehensive reports and exhibits. Ensures appraisal documentation and appraiser certification comply with all regulations. Additionally, Collateral Manager performs appraisal quality reviews to ensure appropriate valuation and minimize risk. Creates process efficiencies with appraisal software tools and databases. May require a bachelor's degree. Has the Member of the Appraisal Institute (SRPA) or similar designation. Requires a State Appraiser License. Typically reports to a director. The Collateral Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Collateral Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Summary

    SPECTRUM offers asset-based lending and accounts receivable factoring to businesses nationwide through referral sources such as banks, business brokers, consultants, and direct business to business contact.

    As a Collateral Auditor at SPECTRUM Commercial Finance, you will be responsible for reviewing and auditing collateral documents ensuring proper execution and compliance.

    Responsibilities

    • Works directly with prospective and existing customers to schedule and coordinate periodic collateral audits.
    • Conduct field examinations of prospective and existing customers including documentation of procedures performed, variances found, conclusions reached, and related recommendations for improvement.
    • Analyze and evaluate collateral quality, collateral values and reporting capabilities of prospective and existing customers.
    • Prepare audit reports and workpapers and makes recommendations to senior management regarding the prospect or customer and recommends any changes to the structure and/or monitoring of the loan.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Requirements:

    Skills/Experience/Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or other relevant discipline.
    • Accounting or audit related work experience preferred.
    • Ability to analyze financial statements and knowledge of accounts receivable and inventory auditing concepts.
    • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to prioritize, organize and work independently to meet deadlines.

    Essential Mental & Physical Requirements

    • Ability to travel (up to 20%) to perform the essential job functions.
    • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required.
    • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 15 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division any “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
