Collateral Manager leads a team of appraisers conducting assessments, valuations, and appraisal reviews of real estate, land, and other personal property to establish the market value generally used for lending, insurance, or other purposes. Establishes processes for conducting on-site inspections of property and data collection required to perform valuations. Being an Collateral Manager follows generally accepted appraisal practice concepts and practices to perform data analysis, develop valuation estimates, and write comprehensive reports and exhibits. Ensures appraisal documentation and appraiser certification comply with all regulations. Additionally, Collateral Manager performs appraisal quality reviews to ensure appropriate valuation and minimize risk. Creates process efficiencies with appraisal software tools and databases. May require a bachelor's degree. Has the Member of the Appraisal Institute (SRPA) or similar designation. Requires a State Appraiser License. Typically reports to a director. The Collateral Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Collateral Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     About the Team
    The Funds and Liquidity Operations team is responsible for providing analytical and operational support and oversight of SWIB’s investments.  The primary functions of the team are to support SWIB’s collateral management, asset allocation, re-balancing, leverage, liquidity, and treasury activities.                                  
     
    Position Overview
    Essential activities:
    • Provide daily operational support for exchange-traded and over-the-counter derivatives
    • Validate daily initial and variation margin calculations
    • Maintain and reconcile collateral and inventory across all counterparties
    • Instruct collateral substitutions as needed
    • Monitor Average Aggregate Notional Amount (AANA) and support UMR
    • Track available High Quality Liquid Assets (HQLA)
    • Support the scope documentation and testing of collateral management in SimCorp
    • Assist in the management and oversight of third-party service providers, including evaluation of service level agreements, analyzing issues, and implementing solutions
    • Serve as operational support for new investment instruments, strategic initiatives and projects
    • Develop procedures and internal control documentation
    • Identify operational process improvements and recommend solutions
    The ideal candidate:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, or equivalent experience
    • Has 2 years of experience in investment operations or related industry
    • Prefer experience in a variety of asset classes including equities, fixed income, FX, and derivatives (exchanged-traded and over-the-counter)
    • Has a firm grasp of basic accounting principles
    • Prefer experience with SimCorp Dimension
    • Demonstrates curiosity
    • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to be adaptive and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
    • Superb work ethic, attention to detail, team orientation, and commitment to excellence

    Pursuant to our Hybrid Remote Work Policy, all staff have the flexibility to work remotely, but are required to have a weekly presence in our offices, the frequency of which is dependent on their distance from office.
