Collateral Appraiser conducts commercial real estate appraisals and property ratings to establish the market value generally used for investment guidance, lending, insurance, or other purposes. Follows standard processes for conducting and documenting on-site property inspections. Being an Collateral Appraiser performs data collection and research on building permits, prior assessments, and relevant market and economic conditions that impact property value. Reviews building plans and specifications and investigates the quality of the construction, the overall condition of the property, and the surrounding location. Additionally, Collateral Appraiser uses generally accepted appraisal practice concepts and practices to perform data analysis, develop valuation estimates, and write comprehensive reports and exhibits. Utilizes appraisal software tools and databases. Ensures that reports comply with required policies, formats, and regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. May require the Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) or similar designation. Requires a State Appraiser License. Typically reports to a manager. The Collateral Appraiser occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. DESCRIPTION:
· Inspect system generated collateral calls for
accuracy prior to making margin calls.
· Communicate directly with counterparties
ensuring the proper collateral is being exchanged.
· Post margin requirements across various triparty
and third-party custody platforms, and monitor settlement.
· Provide release authorizations to various third-party
custodians.
· Investigate and escalate disputes and
discrepancies.
· Settle month end collateral margin interest with
counterparties.
· Perform reconciliations between custodians, counterparties,
and bank.
· Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS:
· 3 years Collateral Mgmt. experience
· Experience with Murex preferred
· Familiar with Acadiasoft Margin Manager,
Agreement Manager
· Knowledge of UMR; and various margin
approaches
· Experience with '40 Act margining
· Knowledge of Swift or MTU electronic
messaging
