Collateral Appraiser conducts commercial real estate appraisals and property ratings to establish the market value generally used for investment guidance, lending, insurance, or other purposes. Follows standard processes for conducting and documenting on-site property inspections. Being an Collateral Appraiser performs data collection and research on building permits, prior assessments, and relevant market and economic conditions that impact property value. Reviews building plans and specifications and investigates the quality of the construction, the overall condition of the property, and the surrounding location. Additionally, Collateral Appraiser uses generally accepted appraisal practice concepts and practices to perform data analysis, develop valuation estimates, and write comprehensive reports and exhibits. Utilizes appraisal software tools and databases. Ensures that reports comply with required policies, formats, and regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. May require the Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) or similar designation. Requires a State Appraiser License. Typically reports to a manager. The Collateral Appraiser occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     The Collateral Services Team supports bilateral OTC derivative collateral requirements and all related settlements. The Client Service Representative will deal primarily with buy-side clients (Hedge Funds, Investment Advisors/Asset Managers) and will develop partnerships internally with various Marketers/Salespeople, individuals in Prime Brokerage, Credit Executives, Middle Offices, and Line of Business Operations Teams

    Job Responsibilities 

    • You will be client focused, able to work independently under strict deadlines with limited supervision, be control oriented
    • Efficiently and accurately process both outgoing and incoming margin calls and provide transparency to the client on the margin call when necessary
    • Ensuring all transfers agreed are eligible under the appropriate legal document
    • Responding to client inquiries, and when needed, coordinate with the appropriate Front/Middle Office as well as the core processing area in order to facilitate resolution
    • Identifying and resolving client disputes related to both collateral and trade settlement discrepancies
    • Risk Mitigation (Operational, Financial and Reputational)
    • Maintaining and building excellent relationships with both internal partners and external clients

    Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills 

    • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Self-motivated, enthusiastic with a great appetite to learn and develop new skills
    • Excellent time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize work in a busy environment with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

    Preferred qualifications capabilities and Skills 

    • Previous exposure to financial products including securities and derivatives instruments advantageous but not essential.
    • Process oriented with strong attention to detail, highly entrepreneurial, creative, open-minded, persistent, highly collaborative and with a passion for delivering business results.
    • Excellent relationship building & influencing skills, with strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
