Coding Compliance Specialist jobs in New Mexico
Coding Compliance Specialist researches and develops the pre-certification insurance policy standards and criteria used by case management and utilization reviewers that will ensure that requested medical services are appropriate and medically necessary. Collaborates with medical professionals to resolve questions about policy development and standards. Being a Coding Compliance Specialist assigns correct ICD, CPT, or other coding assignments for medical procedures that support policy standards in claims systems. Provides expertise and solutions to users regarding the appropriate coding for claims. Additionally, Coding Compliance Specialist has broad knowledge of medical coding systems. May require an associate degree in healthcare administration, a related field, or equivalent. Requires AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC). May alternatively require Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification. Typically reports to a manager. The Coding Compliance Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. We are currently seeking a Biologist -Environmental Compliance Specialist to work in our Albuquerque, New Mexico office.
We are in search of a highly motivated team member to join our family of engineers and scientists who has a strong interest and skillset including multi-tasking skills in order to support a wide variety of challenging and complex water resources projects in the southwest and throughout the nation. There are also opportunities for future advancement in this position.
Your Role:
- Assisting team members with conducting field surveys for vegetation, wildlife, and wildlife habitat
- Evaluating field survey findings to develop environmental permit documentation
- Completing permit documentation based upon experience with: Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and National Environmental Policy Act
- Stream, river, wetland, and riparian restoration planning
- Performing wetland delineations
- GIS based mapping and analysis
- Management of projects including leading technical components, planning and leading field surveys
- Project management including tracking budgets and client coordination
- Assist in business development for biological/environmental work
Qualifications:
- BS in Biology/Natural Resources and at least 3-5 years of professional experience (or more) OR
- MS in Biology/Natural Resources and at least 2-3 years of professional experience in environmental science including surveying, monitoring and permitting, delineation of wetlands, and restoration
- Experience preparing reports, NEPA, CWA and ESA documentation;
- Knowledge of local plant, fish and/or wildlife species and their habitat requirements;
- Experience developing habitat assessment, mitigation and/or monitoring plans;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Experience with GIS;
- Experience with field data collection equipment including GPS
