Co-Pilot (Small Non-Jet) jobs in Oregon

Co-Pilot (Small Non-Jet) assists captain of the aircraft (non-jet smaller than 12,500 pounds at takeoff) with flight duties. Supports captain in calculating flight routes, speed, and take off and landing times to ensure aircraft meets scheduling requirements. Being a Co-Pilot (Small Non-Jet) keeps navigation manuals and charts up-to-date. Must stay current with federal and local flight regulations. Additionally, Co-Pilot (Small Non-Jet) must be capable of taking full control of aircraft while in flight. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires FAA pilot certificate with necessary type ratings. Co-Pilot (Small Non-Jet)'s years of experience requirement may be unspecified.   • Serve as second-in-command (SIC) on Columbia Model 107-II Vertol and/or Columbia Model 234 Chinook helicopters in support of one or more of Columbia’s international or domestic flight operations.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performs as second-in-command for logging, construction, firefighting, and passenger operations
    • Performs appropriate duties as assigned by the Pilot-in-Command and operates the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with all appropriate Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Rotorcraft Flight Manuals, and Company Policies
    • Maintains currency in the type aircraft flown, proficiency in Part 91, Part 133, Part 135, and Part 137 as appropriate to the position and current medical certificate in accordance with FAR Part 67
    • Maintains communications with crew, maintenance, and relevant office personnel
    • Works with maintenance personnel to maintain aircraft in an airworthy condition
    • Conducts oneself in accordance with Company’s Core Values
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • US Commercial Pilot License or higher with Rotorcraft-Helicopter class rating
    • FAA Medical – Second Class or higher
    • Minimum of 1000 PIC hours required
    • Minimum of 500 hours on typed aircraft (47D, 47F, 234)
    • Instrument rating 
    • Long line experience preferred
    • Ability to communicate in a positive and constructive manner
    • Ability to travel and work overseas or domestically in remote places
    • Valid U.S. passport or ability to obtain one
    • Understands maneuvers, procedures, and emergency operations appropriate to the aircraft
    • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
