Cloud Systems Architect is responsible for the design and management of an organization's cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy. Evaluates and identifies the best cloud solutions for the organization. Being a Cloud Systems Architect develops and modifies scalable architecture to support applications and infrastructure-as-a-service (IAAS) and platform-as-a-service (PAAS) platforms. Ensures the security and compliance of cloud environments, including data protection and privacy. Additionally, Cloud Systems Architect monitors and analyzes cloud infrastructure performance to identify and resolve issues proactively. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud-based environments for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Designs controls and processes that utilize available audit tools. Maintains up-to-date and extensive knowledge of cloud products and technology. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Cloud Systems Architect works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. The City of Overland Park has a full-time Systems Architect - Business Intelligence position available in the Information Technology Department.
Responsibilities:
Develop BI reports using Power BI, SSRS, or other reporting tools, use ad-hoc reporting to present technical business information, analyze data to provide business solutions, such as increasing productivity or cutting costs, evaluate and enhance current ETL processes, provide database support by scripting or modifying SQL queries, prepare systems for deployment. Configure, monitor, administer, and troubleshoot commercial off the shelf information systems. Coordinates and manages projects as assigned and works with users to develop requirements and specifications for configuration changes to off the shelf information systems. Writes, tests and maintains custom reports using standard business intelligence and report writing tools. Develops training materials and trains users in the use of off the shelf information systems.

Must successfully pass a background check, drug screen, physical exam and essential functions test.
Normal Work Hours: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Mon.-Fri.
Salary Range Grade K: $97,289.93 - $136,205.08
