Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Supervisor to join our healthcare team. As a Nursing Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This is a leadership position that requires strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage a team. Home Health experience and familiarity with Home Health Conditions of Participation and regulations beneficial, but will train.
Duties:
- Provide supervision and guidance to nursing staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants
- Monitor patient care activities to ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, and protocols
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Conduct regular nurse visits for admit to home health, recertifications, and discharges to assess patient needs, address concerns, and provide support to nursing staff
- Assist with training and orientation of new nursing staff members
- Evaluate nursing staff performance and provide feedback for improvement
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
- Perform various clinical procedures as needed (e.g., IV infusion, catheterization, phlebotomy)
Skills:
- Proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy knowledge
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices
- Excellent health coaching skills to educate patients on self-care techniques
- Experience with utilization review processes to ensure appropriate resource utilization
- Ability to perform clinical procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, and phlebotomy
