The Senior Nurse Director Perioperative Surgical Services will work at a growing 350 bed acute care hospital dedicated to Service Excellence and known for providing exceptional patient care to individuals throughout the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia region. Reporting to the CNO, the Senior Nurse Director Perioperative Surgical Services will oversee financial, operational, and administrative services of the entire surgical service line which includes pre-admission testing, ambulatory surgery unit, operating rooms, endoscopy, cystoscopy OR, PACU, Central Sterile Processing, and the scheduling department. The Senior Nurse Director Perioperative Surgical Services will be supported by Nurse Managers, Nurse Educators, supervisors, staff RN nurses, technicians, and ancillary staff.
Other administrative responsibilities of the Senior Nurse Director Perioperative Surgical Services include performing employee evaluations, establishing service line metrics, developing procedural plans, and implementing quality performance improvement initiatives. To ensure high quality nursing standards are consistently met, the Senior Nurse Director Perioperative Surgical Services will maintain communication with area departments, cross collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and update policy procedures.
The Senior Nurse Director Perioperative Surgical Services must have prior management experience, a background scrubbing and circulating in an operating room, and an active RN license. Ideally, the Director will have prior director-level experience working in a large or academic based hospital setting, be master’s prepared, and hold their CNOR certification.
This hospital is centrally located, so the Senior Nurse Director Perioperative Surgical Services has the option to reside in Washington DC or the suburbs of Maryland or Virginia.
