Clinical responsibilities: None
Educational responsibilities:
Collaborate/mentor emergency medicine residents, fellows and emergency medicine interested students on their research projects.
Education and training on process and skills for grant writing, study design and scientific writing.
Department Responsibilities:
Collaborate with emergency medicine clinical faculty research projects.
Support faculty research projects with statistical analysis, project development, IRB navigation, data collection and storage, analysis, and publication process.
Editing, feedback, and publication support for faculty.
Lead research meetings in for the department. Including project updates and interval project reports.
Work with clinical faculty to develop areas of research focus.
Discover and coordinate grant application opportunities for the department.
Increase publication success across all clinical sites.
Educational Requirements: PhD or MD with Master of Science. Epidemiology, population, "big data" and "dry" laboratory expertise preferred.
Professional Requirements:
Publication record in peer reviewed journals
Experience with healthcare data research
Experience in running/participating in observational studies.
Track record of successful grant applications or active participation in grant applications.
Experience in working with clinical faculty on research projects.
Experience in study design and data analysis
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with EPIC medical record system.
Experience with database and spreadsheet creation for data storage and analysis
Experience with manuscript citation management systems
Experience statistical testing and other research techniques
Experience with IRB review processes and HIPAA regulations
Experience with clinical operations and services
Communication skills:
Ability to lead small group discussions, communicate with clinicians, lead research assistants, mentor junior faculty, residents and students.
