    Programmer Analyst - Stony Brook CPMP Information Technology

    Location: St. James, NY; At the manager’s discretion, this role may be eligible for remote work; this position is only available to New York State Residents.  

    Schedule: Full time

    Days/Hours: Monday - Friday; 8 AM - 4:30 PM

    Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 (pay will be determined based on experience, preferred qualifications, and education)

    Responsibilities

    SUMMARY: The Programmer Analyst-Application Developer reports to the Web and Application Development Manager in IT. This position supports existing in-house developed applications, develops new applications and integration with third party vendors. This position supports the Clinical Practice Management Plan (CPMP) and Stony Brook Medicine. The incumbent will have hand-on developing experience including, but not limited to front-end, back-end, API integration, databases and cloud applications.

     

    Job Duties & Essential Functions:

    • Participate in the full applications development life cycle on projects assigned by the supervisor supporting enterprise infrastructure.
    • Create web application solutions to support and enhance the mission objectives.
    • Proficient with ASP.NET, C#, MVC, SQL/T-SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, API integration, web accessibility, and similar web application technologies.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Visual Studio and familiar with Microsoft Team Foundation Server for development.
    • Working knowledge of SDLC, Agile.
    • Proficient using code repositories such Git, GitHub, Team Foundation Version Control (TFVC).
    • Development/scripting (ASP.NET, C#, SQL/TSQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PowerShell) using Microsoft development stack and supporting technologies.
    • Proficient with SQL queries and SQL DB such MSSQL, Oracle, Azure SQL.
    • Familiarity with hosting management such as set up and troubleshooting IIS, SSL, etc.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to learn and adopt new technologies.
    • Other duties as assigned by management.

    Qualifications

    Required Education and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information technology; in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, 4 years additional experience or an Associates Degree and 2 years additional experience.
    • 2 years of experience as web/application developer.

     

     Preferred Qualifications:

    • 2 years’ experience in healthcare related IT applications.
    • Microsoft Azure creating and managing web solutions.
    • Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate.
    • ETL process.
    • Microsoft certifications in positions related technologies.
    • Willingness to learn new skills by attending online and/or onsite training.

     

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. his position is largely sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for a majority of the day. Any additional physical demands will be outlined and provided by management.
