Clinical Outcomes Director directs in-depth analysis of clinical outcomes data to develop clinical process improvement initiatives. Oversees and leads staff who gather data on performance metrics and facilitates the review of clinical program effectiveness. Being a Clinical Outcomes Director creates, defines, and implements performance metrics to review program effectiveness. Evaluates patient data to ensure that care is provided in accordance with clinical guidelines and organizational standards. Additionally, Clinical Outcomes Director identifies opportunities and provides recommendations to improve program delivery, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare related area. May require a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to senior management. The Clinical Outcomes Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Clinical Outcomes Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Job Title: Director of Operations and Clinical Affairs

    Job Summary: A professional with experience in a supervisory role and healthcare operational management who organizes and directs office operations and the work of clinical and support staff to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Includes the following and other duties may be assigned: 

    1. Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, and directing orientation and training for support staff.
    2. Maintains staff performance by encouraging, counseling and disciplining employees as needed.
    3. Satisfies patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning staff and resources to office locations and various positions. 
    4. Ensures patient scheduling optimization. 
    5. Responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures in order to maintain compliance with agency regulations and to improve efficiency within the offices. 
    6. Facilitates communication and problem solving between departments and serves as a liaison between the physicians and nursing and other department heads.
    7. Meets with the team regularly to discuss operations, provide education and promote problem solving.
    8. Meets with other departments, patient relations, laboratory, pharmacy, finance, IT, human resources and administration as needed to identify needs, problem solve and implement education and changes as they relate to office operations.
    9. Provide support to administration, physicians, nursing and support staff.
    10. Promotes office objectives for patient satisfaction through communication of data and the implementation of methods to sustain or resolve patient satisfaction issues. 
    11. Ensures that the offices operate within all Federal, State and Joint Commission regulations. 
    12. Managing time and payroll for staff.
    13. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. 

    Contacts: Regular contact with Medical Center personnel, patients and visitors.

    Physical Demands: Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs. and stands a minimum of 4 hours a day.

    Work Environment : Medical facility.

    Requirements

     

    Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of medical office management or healthcare operations experience. Three years of supervisory experience. Oncology experience is a plus.
