Clinical Nurse Specialist serves as a clinical expert providing teaching, mentoring, consulting, research, and systems improvement in a specific practice area or with a specific patient population. Coordinates and guides clinical activities/projects of nurses within a practice area. Being a Clinical Nurse Specialist collaborates with members of the health care team to design and implement safe, cost-effective, and evidence-based care strategies. May require a master's degree in nursing. Additionally, Clinical Nurse Specialist requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Clinical Nurse Specialist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Clinical Nurse Specialist typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position: Clinical Trial Home Research Nurse

    Job Type: Contract, PRN, Per diem

    Hourly Rate: $60/hr onsite and $50/hr travel time

    Work Location: Sacramento, CA; On the road


    Job Description: As a Clinical Trial Home Care Nurse, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of research studies. You will be responsible for administering investigational medications/products, conducting patient assessments, collecting vital information, and adhering to study protocols with utmost accuracy and ethics. Your expertise and caring nature will help us maintain compliance with each study's protocol and safeguard the well-being of study patients.


    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide nursing care to research study patients, primarily in their homes.
    • Ensure thorough review and documentation at each subject study visit, maintaining compliance with study protocols and local policies.
    • Administer investigational medications/products as required and monitor patients for any side effects, promptly notifying the Principal Investigator of findings or issues.
    • Perform medical tests, including vital signs, specimen collection, and electrocardiograms, and process or ship specimens per protocol.
    • Adhere to clinical research policies, ensuring ethical conduct and protecting vulnerable populations.
    • Hold active nursing licensure and maintain a high standard of nursing care throughout the research process.


    Qualifications:

    • Graduate from an accredited BSN or Associates Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
    • 2 years of clinical nursing experience, including desirable clinical skills like phlebotomy, subcutaneous injections, ECGs, specimen collections, cannulation, and administration of intravenous therapies.
    • BLS certification required.
    • RN License required.
    • Driver's License required.
    • Experience and knowledge of working in clinical research trials with ICH-GCP (Good Clinical Practice) Certification (Training can be completed upon hire).
    • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate proficiency in computer usage and software applications.
    • Flexibility and availability for a variable work schedule.
    • Possess an unencumbered driver's license and a reliable vehicle for home visits.
