Clinical Information Systems Director directs and coordinates implementation, design, and maintenance of clinical nursing information systems used to improve nursing operations. Conducts analysis to understand the needs of nursing staff and develop systems and strategy that supports and optimizes patient care and aligns with organizational objectives. Being a Clinical Information Systems Director researches and evaluates new technologies and tools used to provide new sources of data and streamline nursing practices. Plans the implementation, communication, and training for new technology deployments. Additionally, Clinical Information Systems Director requires a master's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to top management. The Clinical Information Systems Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. EXPECTED HOURS/SHIFT: Full-Time (80 hours bi-weekly), generally days, Monday-Friday, rare on-call or weekends as needed.
JOB SUMMARY-
The Director, Information Systems is responsible for providing vision, strategy, and leadership for our organizations Information Systems team. The Director is responsible for development and stewardship of the Information Systems multi-million-dollar annual operating and capital budgets. This position serves as the organizations network security officer and is responsible for the development of controls, and policies to ensure compliance with Information security governance, directives, and industry best practices. The Director is responsible for systems optimization, data Integrations and reporting and overall IS service delivery. The Director of Information Systems will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and other Senior leaders to ensure alignment of IS initiatives with the Organizations Strategic plans, to include development and execution of five-year strategic and financial plans.
PREREQUISITES-
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or Healthcare Informatics required. Master’s Degree, CHCIO, CISSP, CPHIMS, ITIL certifications are highly desirable.

- Knowledge & Experience: 5 years' experience in Information Systems management, with a focus on Healthcare Informatics and IT Operations. Strong knowledge of healthcare Information Systems, including EHRs, clinical data analytics, health information exchange (HIE), and interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR), as well as an In-depth understanding of IT infrastructure, network security, cloud computing, data privacy, and regulatory compliance in the healthcare industry.
