Clinical Information System Specialist provides on-site technical support to clinicians to ensure the proper and effective use of clinical information systems and improve the delivery of patient care. Assists users with system navigation, troubleshooting and patient monitoring issues. Being a Clinical Information System Specialist collaborates with leaders across functions and disciplines to plan, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of clinical systems and services. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Clinical Information System Specialist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Clinical Information System Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Coding & System Specialist Health Information Management

  • Responsibilities:
    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The HIM Coding & System Specialist works inpatient and/or outpatient coding related holds/edits/incomplete coding accounts. Codes basic entry level, coding outpatient diagnostics accounts to meet Corporate Unbilled standard, as needed. Works closely with physician offices , and ancillary departments in obtaining missing information to appropriately code the account, query follow-up’s and participates in the operations of the department to ensure chart and documentation availability.

    Qualifications:
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. 1-2 years medical records/ healthcare related field experience or Coding Certificate.

    2. Knowledge of medical terminology.

    3. Interpersonal skills required.

    4. Knowledge of computers, copy machine, microfilm and reader printer preferred

    5. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

    6. Must be able to travel between facilities as needed.

    EDUCATION / LICENSURE:
    1. High School diploma or GED

    2. Associate degree in (HIM or Healthcare related field) or Certificate from an accredited vocational school/college preferred
