Clinical Informatics Coordinator is responsible for the creation, implementation, and analysis of data and information systems required for patient care initiatives. Works with healthcare providers to identify useful clinical data and establish methods of collecting and storing it. Being a Clinical Informatics Coordinator performs analyses to create insights and identify patterns and areas for improvement. Communicates with providers and management to learn the organization's processes and priorities, and to provide takeaways in the most accessible and convenient way possible. Additionally, Clinical Informatics Coordinator typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Clinical Informatics Coordinator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     WMU Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine is looking to hire a Clinical Applications Coordinator. This role is responsible for coordinating and administering courses and clerkships, managing student and faculty information in a variety of software systems, conducting/proctoring student examinations, and effective implementation of daily operations to ensure achievement of curriculum goals and objectives.

    Responsibilities

    • Schedule clinical rotations for third and fourth-year medical students.
    • Maintain timely and up-to-date enrolment and student information for clerkships in Elentra.
    • Maintain student information and assist with processing applications in AAMC Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO) website. 
    • Conducts rotation schedule, credit hour, and graduation requirement audits regularly with the with Advanced Clerkship Coordinator and/or the registrar. 
    • Enters and maintains student rotations in Elentra, Sharepoint, and one45.
    • Acts as a liaison between the medical school and clinical rotation sites. 
    • Annually reviews/collects site capacities for fourth-year lottery preparation.
    • Manage daily operations of a core clerkship, organize and prioritize necessary tasks, initiate changes and resolve issues as they arise.
    • Organize and schedule the clerkship orientation and corresponding instructors; prepare materials for orientation; prepare and post site assignments, schedules and student posters for clerkship activities.
    • Coordinate conferences, grand rounds, outside guest speakers and other formal didacticevents.
    • Monitor the student mid-clerkship performance and summative assessment process and maintain complete and accurate student files.
    • Organizing, collecting and assisting the clerkship director with processing the clerkship specific OSCE results.
    • Participate in the grading process and prepare timely, final grades for submission to the Registrar. 
    • Gather and process faculty hours and clerkship payments in a timely manner.
    • Works with clerkship directors to maintain the clerkship websites, syllabi, and clerkship descriptions.
    • Monitor student absences and remediation tracking.
    • Student assessment distribution and monitoring in Elantra.
    • Regularly communicates with the clerkship director and site administrators concerning schedules, recruitment needs, clerkship requirements, student assessments, and other student and faculty issues.
    • Assists in testing activities including serving as a proctor.
    • Arrange all hospital and off-site computer and badge access documents.
    • Availability to work occasional overtime on weekends or evenings to complete time sensitive projects.
    • Acquires knowledge for new technology and policy/procedure revisions.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    •  Bachelor's degree in education, business administration or a related field preferred or one to two years in an administrative or educational setting.
    • Requires proficiency with email, electronic calendaring, scanners, and copy machines.
    • Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
    • Experience with Apple technology preferred.
    • Experience with electronic multimedia (video and audio) formats preferred and other instructional technology.
