Clinical Ethicist jobs in Maine
Clinical Ethicist offers guidance to patients, their families, and professional staff on ethical, legal and policy issues and concerns stemming from clinical interactions between health care professionals and patients. Provides guidance to the institutional ethics committee pertaining to policy formulation and educational and case review activities. Being a Clinical Ethicist develops institutional policies concerning ethical issues such as "do-not-resuscitate" and "withdrawal of life-support". Requires a master's degree or doctorate related to health ethics. Additionally, Clinical Ethicist typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be a Clinical Ethicist typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. This system also provides various outpatient services including laboratory procedures, physical therapy, occupational therapy, radiology, chemotherapy, same-day surgery, cardiac and pulmonary rehab, nutritional counseling, home health, and respiratory care.
Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, Clinical Informatics Nurse Educator will lead the system assessment, training, and optimization of informatics projects and ongoing staff education. The Clinical Informatics Nurse Educator will work with various hospital leaders and staff to plan and evaluate educational programs, serves as the liaison between the healthcare team and information services, leads system integration and implementation, and works to enhance the overall quality of care.
Requirements Include:
- Graduate of a state approved school of Nursing
- Registered Nurse RN license in state of Maine or ability to obtain
- Strong knowledge of hospital-wide quality and informatics standards
