Clinical Educator is responsible for developing and delivering training programs for clinical health workers. Identifies professional development needs, facilitates training, and conducts in-service sessions. Being a Clinical Educator conducts research to stay current with health care regulations and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Clinical Educator requires certification as an instructor for both ACLS and BLS. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Clinical Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Proven experience in risk screening, comprehensive baseline evaluation or assessment, ongoing assessment and treatment (self-care training, nutrition education, counseling and support, and various interventions), and health outcome monitoring and evaluation.
Provides counseling and nutrition education to patients of The Wright Center which includes HIV and diabetic patients. This includes an annual screening for the patients enrolled in the HIV clinic and more comprehensive counseling and education for those who are identified as high-risk. In addition, the position will participate in clinic meetings and provide appropriate care under the direction of the clinical staff. Work is performed under general direction of the clinic medical staff and is evaluated through periodic conferences and the observation of program results.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The position reports to the Director Lifestyle Modification & Preventative Medicine. No employees report to this position.
