Additionally, Clinical Educator requires certification as an instructor for both ACLS and BLS. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Reporting to the Director of Nursing Education, the RN Educator Behavioral Health will act as a staff development resource and training plans for the inpatient psychiatric department. The RN Educator Behavioral Health emphasizes the collaboration between academic and practice settings, evaluates staff performance, identifies areas of improvement, and actively participates in various hospital committees. The inpatient behavioral health department is an 18-bed locked unit that provides short-term acute psychiatric care for adult patients. This department is trained to treat patients suffering with various conditions, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorder, depression, substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, suicidal ideations, Alzheimer’s, and dementia.
