Clinical Educator is responsible for developing and delivering training programs for clinical health workers. Identifies professional development needs, facilitates training, and conducts in-service sessions. Being a Clinical Educator conducts research to stay current with health care regulations and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Clinical Educator requires certification as an instructor for both ACLS and BLS. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Clinical Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. This is your opportunity to work with a Magnet designated hospital and with a diverse patient population on the surgical intensive care unit. There are currently 12 beds and expanding to 18. The patients will range from ENT, Head and Neck, OBGYN emergencies, Gastrointestinal and more with a focus on critical care general surgical and medical overflow.
The Surgical ICU Nurse Educator will collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Specialist and the Unit Director to determine educational needs of the department. The Educator will serve as a resource person to physicians, nurses, patients, and family members, is recognized as an expert clinician and a leader within their area of specialty and provides and coordinates the resources needed within the unit to provide optimal patient outcomes. The Educator will conduct annual educational needs assessment and implement learning strategies to improve staff knowledge base and collaborates with management and patient/family advisory council to develop standardized teaching materials for patient and family learning needs.
The Surgical ICU Nurse Educator will have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with at least 2 years experience in the area of concentration. There are two positions available - a day shift and a night shift.
The Surgical ICU Nurse Educator will have the option to live in an urban or suburban area of Atlanta.
