Clinical Educator is responsible for developing and delivering training programs for clinical health workers. Identifies professional development needs, facilitates training, and conducts in-service sessions. Being a Clinical Educator conducts research to stay current with health care regulations and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Clinical Educator requires certification as an instructor for both ACLS and BLS. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Clinical Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. * Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Respiratory Care, the incumbent coordinates and oversees the work all Respiratory therapists.
* Monitors staff performance and offers suggestions in line with competencies and clinical policies
* Coordinates and monitors day to day activities of the Respiratory Care Service to assure efficiency of operation and compliance with standards of quality patient care.
* Evaluates and monitors patient and staffing needs.
Education:
* Graduate of an CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
* Bachelor's degree preferred
* Evidence of continued education as required by the Board of Registration, Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Experience:
* Demonstrated clinical competency equivalent to 5 year of critical care experience.
License/ Registration:
* Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care required
* Current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required
* NRP certification is required
* CPR certification required (BLS).
Knowledge and Skills:
* Knowledge of the special needs and behaviors of the infant, child, adolescent, adult, and older adult populations required.
* Makes independent decisions within the scope of defined job description.
* Seeks guidance as necessary for performance of duties.
