Clinical Educator is responsible for developing and delivering training programs for clinical health workers. Identifies professional development needs, facilitates training, and conducts in-service sessions. Being a Clinical Educator conducts research to stay current with health care regulations and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Clinical Educator requires certification as an instructor for both ACLS and BLS. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Clinical Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Ambulatory Central Educator
Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager of the Center for Clinical/Professional Development and in collaboration with the Associate Chief Nursing Officer Professional Development, & Emergency Services the educator works alongside the members of the Center for Clinical/Professional Development. The Educator:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Master of Science, Nursing or equivalent advanced degree in health related field preferred,
Licensure, Certification & Registration: Current license to practice professional nursing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or (ACLS) instructor certification.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Requires knowledge of nursing theory and practice acquired through completion of Board of Registration approved nursing education program located within the United States or as certified by the Commission of Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) in order to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Experience: 5 years current, relevant nursing experience is required. An additional 1-3 years of training and education experience is required, preferrably in a healthcare setting.
