Clinical Educator is responsible for developing and delivering training programs for clinical health workers. Identifies professional development needs, facilitates training, and conducts in-service sessions. Being a Clinical Educator conducts research to stay current with health care regulations and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Clinical Educator requires certification as an instructor for both ACLS and BLS. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Clinical Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. The Pediatric Med-Surg Nursing Educator will provide clinical education to the new hires and current department staff. Reporting to the Director of Professional Development, the Nurse Educator will work across several medical surgical departments dedicated to pediatric care. Responsibilities of the Pediatric Medical Surgical Nurse Educator include coordinating the on-boarding and new hire orientation for all inpatient, acute care employees working on the medical surgical units. The Medical Surgical Pediatric Nurse Educator will ensure compliance, patient safety, and quality care is consistently delivered through promoting a team oriented, positive, patient-centered environment.
The Pediatric RN Educator will be in charge of conducting initial and continuing education learning needs assessments of individual nurses and groups of nurses within the acute care units. This involves keeping staff up to date with current best practices and making sure they are following guidelines set by the hospital. In addition, the position requires developing educational programs for nurses all along the spectrum of their careers that are creative and align with the hospital’s guidelines, needs, and budget. The Pediatric RN Educator will also need to evaluate their educational programs upon completion to make sure the purpose and objectives are achieved.
