Clinical Educator is responsible for developing and delivering training programs for clinical health workers. Identifies professional development needs, facilitates training, and conducts in-service sessions. Being a Clinical Educator conducts research to stay current with health care regulations and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Clinical Educator requires certification as an instructor for both ACLS and BLS. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Clinical Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Responsibilities are to train and offer continued education to other respiratory health care professionals, educating them on new research, procedures, and treatment and recovery options for each patient in their respiratory therapy program. A respiratory clinical educators duties include learning about new respiratory therapy techniques, partnering with a health care team of nurses, doctors, and other medical professionals to coordinate meetings and training programs, and maintaining records of each professionals continued education within the program. As a respiratory clinical educator, you are detail-oriented and self-motivated, and have leadership, organizational, and communication skills. In addition, the Clinical Educator assists with clinical policy review, delegation protocol development, and Joint Commission readiness.
