Job Summary:
Under the guidance of the Director of Nursing, serves as the program coordinator, trainer, mentor, and educational resource for clinical students. Clinical student programs include Medical Assistant (MA) students, Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) students, and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP). Functions as the liaison between the organization and community partners regarding internships and student training. Responsible for the curriculum development, tracking, delivery of clinical training and program compliance.
Primary Responsibilities and Specific Duties:

Collaborates with Center Leadership, Human Resources, and community partners to provide student program oversight, onboarding, and training.

Formalizes and assists in facilitating the successful completion of clinical externships and follow-up.

Develops student training programs, assesses program curriculum, and completes updates as required.

Facilitates one on one sessions and refresher training for students and team members as assigned.

Assists with the completion of clinical checklist and clinical competencies for students and current team members as assigned.

Creates and assists with the development and maintenance of training documents

Participates in cross-training activities with clinical students in OB/GYN, Pediatrics, and Adult.

Provides regular feedback to community partners on the performance of students and recommends strategies to reinforce their skills and knowledge, as needed.

Regularly evaluates clinical competency procedure, clinical competency documents, and checklist for potential advancement in utilization.

Maintains accurate and timely records of students' attendance.

Performs site visits routinely to ensure students on the floor are maintaining clinical skillset and documentation is standardized with organizational policy, procedure, or workflow.

Utilizes a variety of instructional methods and media to deliver education and training to all levels of students, including but not limited to, training manuals, training checklists, flowcharts, job aids, newsletters, videos, and content development, as needed.

Actively communicates with Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing regarding all students' issues including any proposed policy or procedural changes.

Facilitates internal BLS classes.

Participating on local school advisory committee meetings.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
-
Completion of Advanced Practice Registered Nursing program from an accredited school.
Experience:
-
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a primary care setting
-
Prior teaching experience required in the healthcare field is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
-
Current/valid Florida APRN license
-
Current/valid BLS
-
Current American Heart Association Instructor certification or obtained within a specified timeframe

Must maintain a valid Florida Driver's license
