Salary: $80,000 Base Commission
The Regional Sales Manager will work with the Executive Leadership of Data Guide Cable and others in engineering, inside sales, finance, and production, to help carry out organizational growth objectives. Reporting to the VP Business Development. The primary function is to direct all sales activities to achieve performance goals in accordance with the sales plan. This position requires coaching, directing, and training sales professionals (distribution channel partners & independent rep organizations) in their respective assignments to succeed at managing and developing sales. In this direct sales position, it is essential to understand organization and distribution strategy while keeping management informed of trends and changes. This position provides ongoing support, guidance, and leadership to a sales force comprised of Area Account Managers and/or Manufacturing Representatives driving growth, profitability, demand creation, and brand awareness through key distribution channel partners.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Establish new and/or build on existing relationships with key customers, and distributors, to enhance sales volume and customer service.
· Plan, direct and drive the sales resources to assure adequate coverage is applied to all accounts.
· Market knowledge of the Wire & Cable industry and distribution channels
· Drive demand creation by educating distribution partners and OEMs about DGC capabilities and services.
· Help channel partners identify new sales opportunities within existing and new accounts.
· Operating as main point of contact for all matters specific to defined accounts.
· Conduct lunch-n-learns as needed providing technological back-up on product training for rep agencies, distributors, or end user clients on benefits of DGC solutions and capabilities.
· Meals / entertainment with clients per Travel and Expense policy guidelines
· Resolve customer disputes either in person, phone, MS Teams, and/or email communication.
· Work well with cross functional teams: inside sales, engineering, and production / scheduling
· Oversee local manufacturing representatives, developing sales targets, and business plans.
· Maintain records of existing and prospective customers with our CRM software
· Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences in your assigned territory.
· Keep calendar and CRM always updated.
· 75% travel within assigned territory and outside as required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Proven work experience as Account Manager, Key Account Managers, or Regional Sales.
· Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales systems.
· Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
· Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
NECESSARY EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATION:
· College or university degree; or relevant sales and industry experience
· 2-3 years’ experience in an account management role
· Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
· Maintain automobile suitable to transport clients, and current automobile insurance.
· Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
· Required to attend company sponsored training and functions.
· DGC, Inc. will verify a negative drug screen, criminal record check, DMV prior to working.
