    Compensation for this position starts at $65,000, and with demonstrated experience and qualifications, candidates may earn up to $75,000.

    About Your Workday

    This position is integral to the overall management of data across the institution, encompassing the oversight of a data governance program and documenting critical business data requirements pertaining to data entities, research plans, and key performance indicators. These requirements will provide a roadmap for the Data Solution Architect to implement and ensure that the organization has the data it needs to derive actionable insights. This role will thus play a key role in shaping the institution's data strategy and contribute significantly to the organization's operational efficiency and strategic decision-making processes.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage all administrative functions including user maintenance, modification of page layouts, generation of reports and dashboards, creation of new fields, workflows, and other routine tasks in Salesforce.
    • Perform daily monitoring and continuously improve how patron data is shared across the organization. Develop processes/procedures to audit data, and identify errors or duplications in Salesforce. Create and manage protocols for data cleansing.
    • Provide end-user training, instruction, and support in finding and using data for organizational needs.
    • Document and record-keep system customizations in Salesforce.
    • Plan for upgrades, seasonal releases, and long-term projects in Salesforce.
    • Ensure optimal performance of systems and products related to Salesforce.
    • Focus the organization’s use of data toward the delivery of strategic goals and business objectives.
    • Enforce policies for effective data management and serve as a data steward.
    • Monitor and review data for integrity across interworking systems.
    • Integrate best practices in data collection and management to guarantee quality assurance.
    • Support the migration of legacy data (in spreadsheets and databases) into new systems.
    • Formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data
    • Coordinate data collection policies with all departments that collect data.
    • In collaboration with the Business Intelligence Analyst, establish rules and procedures for data sharing with staff, management, and other internal or external stakeholders.
    • Implement and manage the data governance program.
    • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Marketing and Analytics, the Director of Advancement Operations, the Business Intelligence Analyst, and other key stakeholders to ensure that data is being used and communicated effectively to drive business outcomes.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Salesforce certified administrator or advanced administrator is preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing databases, data flows, and sources within relational databases and defining requirements, procedures or processes. Preference for candidates who have performed in a key role during the implementation of a new database, software, or system.

    About the Referral Program

    Chautauqua Institution’s Referral Bonus Program is a talent solution to recruit, develop, and retain a diverse workforce that encompasses all the skills and experience necessary to deliver on our goals and objectives. Chautauqua Institution will provide a $500 referral bonus (less taxes) for active employees referring a new candidate who is hired and remains employed for at least 90-days from the first physical date of work. In the case of seasonal positions working less than 6-months, the new candidate must remain actively employed for at least 30-days from the first physical date of work and until the closing date of the season. The closing date of the season is the last Sunday in August.


    About Your Schedule

    The Manager of Data Operations will average 40-hours per week with a periodic increase of working hours (approximately 50-hours per week) required based on business needs in pre-operation and operating seasons, specifically February – July.

    This position will be based in Chautauqua Institution’s home office, located in southwestern New York. Qualified candidates may also be considered for telecommuting arrangements.

    Occasional travel is required to various professional events, conferences, and training using personal or occasionally rental vehicles. Travel predominantly within the region in an approximate 100-mile radius. Self-coordination of business travel and occasional flights required.
