Provides phone, clerical, and data entry support including insurance verification. Being a Clinic Receptionist directs patients, visitors, and callers to appropriate parties and answers basic questions. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Clinic Receptionist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Clinic Receptionist possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Position Summary:
This position is scheduling patient appointments to maintain a steady flow for health care providers. As well as registering patients for the outpatient departments.
Essential Functions
▪ Must be able to work well with the public.
▪ Registering patients - Outpatients and Clinics.
▪ Answering phones in a timely manner.
▪ Keeping medical records up to date.
▪ Logging of daily payments.
▪ Assisting patients on necessary documents.
▪ Collection of cash payments.
▪ Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
Education
▪ High School Diploma or GED
Experience
▪ Previous receptionist experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
▪ Professional and discrete manner at all times.
▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
▪ Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
▪ Knowledge of HIPAA
Hours of Work
▪ Monday – Friday, 8AM to 5PM
▪ Travel to outlying clinics may be required.
