Clinic Operations Director (Hosp. Op.) directs and administers day-to-day operations of a hospital's outpatient or specialty clinic. Ensures economical and efficient performance under guidance of hospital's goals, objectives, and clinical operating budget. Being a Clinic Operations Director (Hosp. Op.) coordinates with management, medical teams and community to create policies and procedures that provide high quality health care services. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Partners with McLaren Medical Group (MMG) CEO and the Regional CEO’s around programmatic builds, department alignment with program lines and regional growth strategies optimizing patient access to care. Responsible for the operation of multiple ambulatory sites by department, implementation of strategic plan and mission, employee and patient experience, financial performance of sites, improvement of quality of services, coordination and integration of services with McLaren Health Care subsidiaries. Provides leadership and direction for clinical operations, revenue cycle functions, quality, compliance, performance improvement, patient experience, and employee engagement.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Leads in development and implementation of department business strategy.
- Develops and implements strategy which leads to improvement in market share consistent with McLaren’s mission and core values.
- Uses data to analyze market dynamics, trends and competition and implements strategies to meet market demand.
- Effectively advises CEO and COO in the development and execution of short- and long-term strategies.
- Understands all operational components necessary to implement a new or expand a current department, including but not limited to capital, equipment, people, education, quality metrics and costs.
Required:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or related field. Must complete Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or related field within 18 months of starting position.
2. Minimum 5 years in a progressive management position with a focus on program development, provider relations, and marketing.
3. Minimum of 3 years of Director experience in physician-hospital practice integration and applicable program development.
4. Minimum of 3 years of experience in specific department (Primary Care, Ortho/Neuro/Cardio, Medical/Surgical or Access) clinical operations.
5. Travel approximately 70 percent.
6. Current Michigan driver’s license and proof of valid automobile insurance.
7. Insurable under McLaren’s insurance program
8. Must possess and consistently use excellent communication skills and teamwork problem-solving skills in order to develop relationships with regional providers.
Preferred:
1. Experience in strategic planning, marketing, sales, networking and affiliations, physician practice development, referral base development, or outreach programs in health care is highly preferred.
