Clinic Operations Director (Hosp. Op.) jobs in Indiana

Clinic Operations Director (Hosp. Op.) directs and administers day-to-day operations of a hospital's outpatient or specialty clinic. Ensures economical and efficient performance under guidance of hospital's goals, objectives, and clinical operating budget. Being a Clinic Operations Director (Hosp. Op.) coordinates with management, medical teams and community to create policies and procedures that provide high quality health care services. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Clinic Operations Director (Hosp. Op.) typically reports to COO. The Clinic Operations Director (Hosp. Op.) typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Clinic Operations Director (Hosp.   • QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

    • Graduate of an approved school of nursing
    • BSN preferred

    Experience/Skills

    • One year experience in physician’s office or related experience preferred
    • Possesses a background in medical-surgical nursing and immunizations
    • Exhibits knowledge of clinic functions
    • Works well in conjunction with other clinic staff
    • Demonstrates knowledge of current trends and techniques in nursing practice
    • Communicates effectively both verbally and in written reports

    Required Licenses/Certifications

    • Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the state of Indiana
    • CPR
    • ACLS

    Working Conditions

    • Works in a well-lit, well-ventilated clinic environment

    Essential Functions

    • Performs the following clinic duties:
      • Patient intake including medical history and physical assessment to prepare patient for their visit
      • Various testing
      • Lab work
    • Assures patient records are maintained and transferred as requested
    • Ensures that ordered test results are in the patient record and available for the provider to review at time of patient examination
    • Maintains current knowledge of medications and correct administration based on patient and their current clinical condition
    • Assists provider in procedures
    • Obtains consent for procedures as directed
    • Uses appropriate aseptic technique
    • Collects lab specimens and prepares specimen for transport according to policy
    • Maintains knowledge of Lab policies
    • Ensures that examination rooms are fully prepared and that patients are seen in a timely manner
    • Records all phone conversations and information provided to the patient in the medical record to facilitate clear communication among all clinic staff
    • Answers telephone promptly, directs calls appropriately, and relays messages using patient cases in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
    • Monitors voicemails throughout the day and processes appropriately
    • Accurately schedules office visits and in-office procedures
    • Reviews schedules for conflicts and coordinates necessary staff and equipment
    • Documents in the patient record in a timely and accurate manner including all assessments, medications administered, and tests performed
    • Understands growth and development principals and provides age-appropriate care. Interprets clinical data based on these principals
    • Responds to emergency situations appropriately and immediately
    • Exhibits ability to prioritize and organize work/responsibilities
    • Consistently demonstrates flexibility in adapting to changes in workload and assignments
    • Is able to perform duties beyond the scope of a normal workload
    • Regularly offers assistance to others in order to complete workload
    • Maintains an awareness of new regulations and legislation affecting the profession, healthcare, and current developments in the nursing field
    • Regularly perceives potential problem situations and intervenes to offset adverse impact
    • Demonstrates good judgement in use of corrective actions or alterations in problem solving, and follows up with satisfactory prevention plan
    • Performs other nursing duties as assigned
