The Surgical Clinic (TSC) is a group of private practice surgeons representing many specialties of surgical practice to develop patient-focused, conveniently located places to give patients access to needed surgical procedures close to home. Since its founding in 1997, The Surgical Clinic has continued to attract talented surgeons, becoming one of Middle Tennessee’s most respected practices.
TSC specializes in bariatric surgery, breast surgery, general surgery, plastic surgery, podiatry, surgical oncology surgery, vascular & endovascular surgery, and veins. In addition, TSC has established several Vascular Procedure Centers, TSC prosthetics, Vein Centers, and accredited ultrasound labs.
Position Summary
The Medical Office Manager is responsible for the daily operations and financial accountability of the clinic, staff management and efficient patient flow and meeting all state and federal mandated standards. This role manages a variety of general office activities by direction of subordinates and/or performing the tasks. The Medical Office Manager also monitors and measures patient flow, patient satisfaction, and workflow in the clinical areas and monitors provider needs, and adherence to government regulations all to assure efficient and productive and high-quality care and results.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyzes and organizes operations and surgery/procedure scheduling, front office, referral departments, and responsible for point of service for revenue cycle management in the clinic.
- Responsible for maintaining relationships between patient and provider, referral offices and providers.
- Maintains OSHA and other government standards as required
- Supports and implements TSC Goals
- Implements new workflow processes as needed for efficient and effective workflows, continue optimization of EHR.
- Manages practice personnel and Human Resource records and timecard approval for site employees. Assures appropriate staffing of all clinic’s functional areas.
- Implements and holds staff accountable for meeting TSC Policy and Procedure
- Maintains supply inventory, ordering, and stock while working with the purchasing office in doing so.
- Train and supervise staff, counsel staff after consulting with upper management and or surgeons.
- Knowledge of all tasks to be a backup and cross cover
- Manage/coordinate IT matters on site.
- Delegate responsibilities as needed to other employees.
- Contact Central Billing Office (CBO) on issues/tasks around revenue cycle management and works in conjunction with the CBO in resolving revenue cycle issues.
- Other duties as requested.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- College degree preferred.
- Healthcare administration degree and/or certified as an MA or higher with five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent required.
- Basic CPR/First AID Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of EHR, MSWord, MS Excel, payroll software and Internet software required.
