Client Services Director directs and oversees the implementation operations of an organization. Oversees a team responsible for installing and deploying technical systems, software, hardware, or solutions. Being an Client Services Director implements policies and creates procedures to ensure consistency and high-quality work. Ensures that the timelines, planning, scoping, and cost estimates support successful projects that meet the needs of the client organization. Additionally, Client Services Director tracks implementation timeliness and client issues and develops solutions to implementation problems or challenges. Develops team skills and expertise with coaching and training activities. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of technical specialty. Typically reports to senior management. The Client Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Client Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Scope of Position:

    The Client Services Resource Navigator must possess the skills and desire to coordinate available resources from outside The Salvation Army and marry them with available resources within The Salvation Army to ensure clients have every opportunity to change their lives. This position requires a constant working relationship with community partners to help bridge the gap from The Salvation Army provided direct support services and other necessary goods and services the client needs for a successful transition out of homelessness and/or to maintain a stable life.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

    • Must demonstrate a passion for and be familiar with The Salvation Army’s mission; must represent the ideals of The Salvation Army in every aspect of the employee’s work.
    • Must be able to manage a variety of projects at any given time.
    • Must be able to work in an environment that is busy and must be able to work despite interruptions and surrounding activities.
    • Must be able to work outside in all local weather climates. This includes being active in community events year-round.
    • The ability to maintain a self-motivated and self-directed schedule. The employee must demonstrate the ability to plan, organize, and coordinate the functions of the employee’s position.
    • The Salvation Army takes HIPPA privacy rules very seriously. All employees are required to adhere to current confidentiality policies for both HIPPA and The Salvation Army. This position requires a criminal history information check. Conviction of a crime will not automatically preclude appointment. The circumstances involved in the conviction will be considered.
    • This work entails all demographics and all socioeconomic backgrounds. You must be prepared to interact with fellow staff, donors, clients both houseless and housed, granters, community partners and others during your day.
    • The following equipment may be used: telephone, computer equipment, fax/copy machine, and 10 -key calculator. Frequent phone and in-person contact with people from diverse backgrounds will occur.
    • Must regularly exercise discretion and judgment with the employee’s personal contacts and approach to each individual or family. The employee should recognize when a situation should be deferred to a coworker, when there is a conflict of interest or a blurred line that should not be crossed. Resource Navigation entails having contact with anyone in need, and if there is a conflict of interest you need to remove yourself and notify your supervisor immediately.
    • The ability to command respect from community and those desiring to access services.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    It is the responsibility of each employee of The Salvation Army, Medford Citadel Corps, to reach out to people, without discrimination, in the name of The Salvation Army; helping to build whole people- spirit, soul and body!

    • Screen, interview and connect clients with programming to help them reenter society, find needed mental health and physical health services, gain financial stability, find transitional or permanent housing and reduce crime and violence.
    • Work one-on-one with clients in identifying community resources, connecting to services such as job training, education completion, mental health programs, restorative justice, and housing.
    • Provide clients with advocacy and function as a liaison between them and the public and private service providers in Jackson County.
    • Partner with the Navigation Center, Corrections, probation, parole, Livability Team, The Salvation Army H.O.P.E. House, other local Salvation Army programs and other community partners to identify those in need of services.
    • Aid clients in finding appropriate transportation options, i.e., public transit, cabs, ride-share options, etc.
    • Work with your supervisor to maintain a weekly schedule fitting the needs of the department for that month. This will include planning around specific annual activities such as Christmas assistance outreach, attending Christmas distribution days to connect with clients in person, and attending community outreach events scheduled by your supervisor.
    • Attend bi-monthly Medford Food Project allocation days.
    • The employee will be responsible for inputting client information into online statistical programs. This information will include all outreach efforts made by the employee as well as input for clients receiving services through the Social Services office from various grants.
    • Will be responsible for preparing monthly reports detailing demographics served each month.
    • Monitor, track and report on the status and progress of all clients connected through the social services office.
    • Maintain client files in an orderly manner updating case notes, records, and reports on a weekly basis.
    • Maintain computer records as prescribed by The Salvation Army policy, grantor, and directed by your supervisor.
    • Maintain current referral resource list, in conjunction with the Outreach Coordinator in the Administration office, to provide to all TSA sites as referral options to other programs.
    • Complete referral information on clients at time of connection to services.
    • Answer the telephone, direct calls, and take messages in compliance with The Salvation Army policy.
    • Attend staff meetings when scheduled.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Physical Requirements:

    The employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time operating a keyboard. Ability to stand and/or be physically active for up to two hours or more at a time. Must be able to walk, run, reach, and grasp with hands and arms, lift bend, and stoop. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to twenty-five pounds or more.

    Some travel may be required within the state and in a company-provided vehicle. Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record (Note: Prior to appointment, finalists will be required to provide authorization to The Salvation Army to obtain their driving record.)

    Working Conditions:

    Works in an office environment with frequent interruptions, multiple deadlines, and competing priorities. Frequent phone and in-person contact with people from diverse backgrounds. Also work outside the office, connecting with clients waiting in line for social services as well as connecting with community partners and attending community engagement events. Work environment includes managing projects with conflicting requirements and tight deadlines.

    MISCELLANEOUS:

    The dress code of the Resource Navigator position is business causal. As this position works both in an office setting and out in the community at events, the employee should dress appropriately for their scheduled activities that day. The Salvation Army holds a high standard for professionalism, and the dress code for employees is no exception.

    • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Work/Professional Experience: Two years’ experience in Human Services working with a diverse population of individuals and families in crisis who may be under stress.
