Job Overview

As a Senior Manager or Director of our Private Client Services practice, you would be applying your technical knowledge and client engagement experience to grow the practice and manage all phases of client engagements for our high-net-worth clients and closely held businesses. Your responsibilities would include, but are not limited to, assisting, and developing staff, performing and reviewing technical research, final review of returns, and communicating with the client throughout the year. As a leader in the practice, you would also be expected to develop professional relationships and actively solicit new business. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages tax and consulting engagements for high-net-worth clients and closely held businesses, including review of individual, trust, estate, S-Corp, foundation, partnership, and gift tax returns
• Applies knowledge of individual, trust, and flow-through compliance and planning issues to work collaboratively with clients and their advisors to develop and implement plans
• Identifies technical issues, conducts and reviews advanced tax research, and develops innovative recommendations      
• Develops and maintains client relationships to ensure the highest level of client service is achieved
• Provides leadership amongst the engagement team to ensure high quality, efficient and timely solutions to clients
• Provides overall leadership, mentoring, supervision, training, and performance feedback to staff and managers
• Coordinate and support practice development and client services across all business lines
• Oversee training programs focused on technical quality, achieving outcomes, and consistency and efficiency in procedures
• Serves as role model for those who strive for personal excellence, and empowers others to work productively and to be leaders
• Develop business by expanding existing relationship with clients, maintaining personal networks, and participating in civic, charitable, and professional organizations 

Qualifications

Education/Licensing

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or other relevant field, from an accredited university required
•  Master’s Degree in Tax or Accounting preferred
• CPA certification required
• Other professional certifications desired

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• 8 years of public accounting experience working in a tax environment, with a concentrated focus on private client services including individual, partnership, s-corporation, estates, trusts, and private foundation/tax consulting clients.
• Thorough knowledge of the tax process, including strong research skills
• Experience in staff leadership and development
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, ability to think critically and make decisions
• Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Client service mentality
• Teamwork oriented with a willingness to grow, a passion for living, and desire to go above and beyond

Software

• Excellent Microsoft Office Suite experience
• Knowledge of accounting and tax software is required, UltraTax and GoFileRoom preferred
