    Description

    Reusable systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. A key ingredient to making reusable systems is the ability to manufacture high quality parts and embrace quick iteration. As a programmer, you will be responsible for the creation and modification of NC programs for CNC machines including lathes and 3, 4, and 5-axis mills. You will contribute to the successful production of tight tolerance, high value parts for various spaceflight systems. The ideal candidate has a strong hands-on background in running CNC equipment that supplements their programming skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Create NC programs for CNC mills and lathes, ensuring engineering requirements of machined parts are met
    • Develop and optimize machining strategy in a fast-paced development environment
    • Create and manage setup sheets for machinists, take feedback to improve NC programs
    • Collaborate with engineers and machinists for design-for-manufacturability and increase efficiency
    • Design custom cutting tools and fixtures as needed

    Qualifications

    • 5 years of experience in set up and operation of CNC milling and lathe machines
    • 3 years of experience in NC programming of CNC milling and lathe machines, Mastercam experience preferred
    • Excellent drawing interpretation skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Rigorous attention to detail
    • High school diploma or equivalent certificate
    • Ability to work second shift and weekends as needed
    • Able to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted
    • Able to stand for extended periods
    • Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight space
    • Able to withstand repetitive movements, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting

    Compensation:

    • Level 3 Range: $112,000 - $168,100
    • Level 4 Range: $136,900 - $205,400
